About Benyamin Rezaei (the author of African Diamonds)

I was born in June 1984 in Karaj. First, I entered the university in the field of physical education, then in the field of tourism, and until today I have traveled to more than 104 countries in 5 different continents. Adventure has always been a part of my life, and it is and will always be, no matter when I had money or when I was without money. It was in my mind that one day I want to become a world traveler and discover this damn world the way I want to.

Travel is a cure for me, travel is a liberation for me, a self-discovery! Me and travel are like tea and jam, bread and cheese, like spring and oranges, like man and air, we cannot be separated. In the summer of 2018, I took the biggest risk of my life and with my personal car, which was a 207 Peugeot car. I started traveling around Europe and I was the first Iranian to reach the farthest point in Europe, the Strait of Gibraltar, with an Iranian car after 48 days of driving.

My motto is “travel, adventure, worship and see the world with your own eyes”

Since 2010, I started traveling in Asian countries, from China, Malaysia to India, Turkey, Dubai, etc., then I traveled to Europe, Africa and America.

And my most memorable trip in 2019 was the trip with a Peugeot 207 personal car, which started on July 14. After 110 days of traveling in Europe with a domestically produced Peugeot 207 car, I was the first person in history to travel from Tehran to the farthest point in Europe. That is, I reached the Strait of Gibraltar in the south of Spain.

I am neither Dostoyevsky, nor Albert Camus, nor Jalal Al-Ahmad. I am just a travel freak who scribbles down my travel memories for you. In 2016, for the first time, I decided to travel to several countries in Africa, and I created my first tourism channel on Telegram called Ben in Africa, and I forced acquaintances and relatives to join this channel. my channeldidn’t even reach 70 people! I knew that this was not just a trip. It is a challenge and something more than an adventure. My journey started from Kenya and Ethiopia and continued to Rwanda and after 15 days when I returned to Tehran, the number of members of my Telegram channel had reached 120 people. I was very excited and happy that 50 members New has been added to my travel channel. This Telegram channel became the starting point for publishing the contents of my travel, and now I am very happy that after the whole trip in the African continent and my efforts at night, which sometimes lasted until late at night, this book is in your hands and your thoughts. My life is divided into two parts before the trip to India and Africa and after the trip to India and Africa and this book is a summary of my many years of travels and experiences to different parts of the African continent that I have written with simple literature. And maybe it has some problems, but I have no doubt that after reading this book, you will travel to Africa and discover this continent with a new perspective.

Kenya:

The reason for the first trip to Africa

Almost 8 years ago, during my famous trip to Istanbul, I met a girl named “Tracy” who was from Australia on the train. It took 3 days for the train to reach Istanbul from Tabriz, and the love story between us is of its intense kind in these 3 days. The day came. Tracy, a young girl with golden hair and bunny teeth, eyes the color of the ocean, was an adventure tour guide who had taken a group from Australia to China to perform the Silk Road Earth Light. This tour started from China and after passing through the countries of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, it reached Iran. In Iran, Tracy’s group had boarded a train from Tehran to reach Istanbul. On the way, I boarded a train in Tabriz that was supposed to change my life. The train arrived in Istanbul, and Tracy and I were able to get to know each other better during the few days we stayed in Istanbul, but Tracy had to leave Istanbul due to her work conditions, and returned to Kenya to stay in Kenya for a while. Later, she started a tourist company in Nairobi, we wrote letters from time to time, I used to go to internet cafes in the evenings and spend hours looking at the photos she posted on the internet and dreaming my goals. I tried harder every day, so that the hardships of life in Istanbul do not harm my future dreams. One day, in the foggy weather of Istanbul, I opened the damn Facebook and saw Tracy’s engagement photo with a Kenyan man, and while I was biting my fingernails out of nervous pressure, I stared at the white dress that Tracy was wearing in the photo. Tears flowed from my eyes. The days were hard for me, I saw my hopes dim and my world small and my dreams wasted until the passing of time and traveling helped me to come to my senses. – Until then, no one had been able to be as influential in my life as Tracy. Tracy, with her very special ethics and behavior, had a deep impact on the African diamonds of my life in a very short time, and I am always grateful that she entered my life story and changed my thoughts. Thanks for the change. After many years, I was reading a travelogue about Kenya in an English-language blog, and I was so fascinated by the travelogue that I set out to travel to Kenya. I am looking for a few days travel tour in Kenya, who booked a 5-day tour with a stay at the camp for 450 dollars. The flight sat in Nairobi at 6 in the morning and I got into a taxi. After years, I had the excitement of seeing Tracy. I didn’t care at all what was going to happen and I didn’t have any special plan in my mind, I let myself go like a wind that has released itself in the ocean. I arrived inside the big tents, I still did not understand the mission of this trip, that I had come here to travel or to revive Tracy’s memories! My task was not clear to me, I was supposed to see Tracy and her family at 12 o’clock, every 10 minutes I looked at my damn wrist watch, after 12 years I saw Tracy, a child in my arms with the same rabbit laugh but a little stuck in the hostel area, there were lines on her face that were not there before, I was so excited that I didn’t know what to do. And then we were added, her two-year-old son Gabriel was introduced to me by Tracy’s husband. At that moment, I was about to say this sentence to Tracy: “The most beautiful part of our acquaintance is that I found you when I wasn’t looking for anyone at all, I was tired of everyone, I wasn’t in the mood for anyone, and God brought you into my life at the best time. And I thanked Tracy for being there, Tracy didn’t know what I was thanking her for, but I knew very well what I was thanking her for. I have no more thoughts in my head, no love in my heart, no heart to forgive, and I am calm like the water flowing in the river…
