Things to do in Pattaya

Pattaya is an incredible destination for an unforgettable holiday. It is famous for its beautiful beaches, picturesque scenery, lively nightlife, and friendly and warm people. But there’s much more to this vibrant coastal city. From cultural attractions to historical landmarks, delicious cuisine, and exciting activities, there are countless things to do in Pattaya that will capture your imagination and provide plenty of opportunities for fun and exploration.

For culture lovers, the city offers a wealth of attractions. Visit Wat Yansangwararam temple — one of the most famous religious sites in Thailand — or explore the famous Buddha Mountain with its breathtaking views and serene atmosphere. The Sanctuary of Truth is also a must-see; this ornate wooden structure is built entirely out of teak wood and stands tall at 105 meters high. Art galleries like the Na-Baan Gallery showcase some of the best contemporary artworks from local artists, while museums like Art in Paradise offer interactive 3D art experiences for all ages to enjoy.

On top of the many cultural attractions, Pattaya has a rich history that can be appreciated through its stunning architecture. Popular landmarks include Baan Suan Restaurant in Central Pattaya, which was built during World War II as a retreat for soldiers; Jomtien Beach Pavilion from the 1950s; and vintage hotel The Falcon on Soi Chaiyapoon Road which dates back to 1957 when it served as an air base during World War II.

When it comes to cuisine, Pattaya has something for everyone’s taste buds! Sample some of the freshest seafood dishes at one of the many beachside restaurants or head inland where you can find famous Thai dishes such as pad thai, green curries, and som tam (spicy papaya salad). For dessert be sure to indulge in some traditional desserts like mango sticky rice or coconut ice cream that can be found all across the city center. If you’re looking for something more exotic then why not try one of their famous street foods like roasted quail eggs?

Aside from food, there are plenty more activities to experience in Pattaya including water sports such as jet skiing or parasailing off Jomtien Beach; fishing trips departing from Ocean Marina Yacht Club; horseback riding along Sam Phrao Beach followed by sunset drinks at Sunset Boulevard Bar & Grill; ATV rides through woodlands on Khao Thammarat hills; elephant trekking in Khao Kaen forest park; kiteboarding at Jomtien beach; kayaking around Nong Nooch Tropical Garden lagoon; cycling around Bang Lamung canal network…the list goes on!

If you’re looking for something a bit more relaxed then head downtown where you can find popular bars and cafes such as Beach Rock Café & Bar with their famous Mojitos or Met Bar on Walking Street with live music performances every night. Or why not wander around one of Pattaya’s famous markets such as the Floating Market filled with souvenirs and handmade goods?

When it comes to festivals and events throughout the year — Pattaya is among the best destinations in the entire world. Join locals celebrating Songkran (Thai New Year) in April with three days filled with water fights amongst Buddhist parades or explore underwater marine life during International Underwater Festival held every October near Koh Larn Island along with other water-based activities such as snorkeling competitions, boat races, and even an international yachting regatta race! Not forgetting Pattaya’s famous 7km beach marathon taking place every November followed by post-race celebrations involving floats competing against each other accompanied by parades filled with dancers performing traditional Thai performances along Route 7 Naklua Road (also known as ‘Hippie Route’).

Lastly don’t forget about what makes this city famous – its nightlife! With hundreds of clubs situated throughout Walking Street – simply put: no one sleeps here! Whether you’re looking for wild nightclubs playing EDM music until dawn or jazz bars playing live bands till late – you’ll never run out of options when it comes to partying in Pattaya.

Therefore, whether you’re looking for adrenaline-pumping activities by day or wild nightlife experiences by night – there’s no shortage of things to do in this vivacious coastal city! With so much variety available – there’s always something new around every corner waiting for you to discover it!
